BEWARE: ELEPHANT CROSSING!

ELEPHANT IN KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

When this gigantic pachyderm rumbled right in front of us, for a moment we thought we were goners! For what could stop him from stomping on our puny Nissan Tiida! We were so busy looking at a herd of elephants in the far distance on one side of the dirt road that we didn’t notice this beast suddenly emerge from the clump of trees on the other side until he was almost upon us. Should I shoot him or should I back up the car out of harm’s way? But it was too late for there were¬†his companions¬†as well behind us making the crossing. The wife tried to stifle her scream while I kept taking pictures and hoping they wouldn’t think we were a threat. In a couple of minutes, they were gone……
